MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT:
2008 ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

Musical entertainment including; marionettes, bagpipes, suzuki violinists, local singers and songwriters and much, much more, have been an integral part of A Fair in the Park since 1976. Continued partnership with WYEP Pittsburgh provided A Fair in the Park with Saturday's entertainment and WDUQ has sponsored special Friday jazz performances. In 2005, WYEP (91.3fm) presented A Fair in the Park with a WYEP Concert Weekend. This partnership has brought A Fair in the Park an outstanding array of regional talent including: Liz Berlin, Kelsey Barber, Mark Dignam, Dave Pahanish, Brad Strad and countless others.

Violinist Kimberlee Faught can be found roaming Mellon Park for special afternoon performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Glass Blowing and Torching - Mike Mangiafico
Mike Mangiafico's specialty is making glass insects,but he also creates beads, marbles, jewelry, vessels, and paperweights from glass. He will be demonstrating various glass blowing and torching techniques.

Glass - The Pittsburgh Glass Center
Join the Pittsburgh Glass Center at A Fair in the Park for a flame demonstration where you will witness a local artist at the torch creating intricate works of art such as beads or small sculpture. This is your chance to watch Art on Fire!

Wood Turning - Wood Turners Anonymous
The Western Pennsylvania chapter of the American Association of Woodturners will demonstrate various wood turning techniques and feature products of woodturning.

Mixed Media- Rose Clancy and Rachel DiRenna
Clancy and DiRenna are paper mache artists with a flare for design and creativity. Be sure to visit their demonstration tent to experience the process of their craft first hand.

Clay - Alberto Almarza and The Mobile Museum
The Mobile Museum, a project of artist Ally Reeves, is touring the city and visiting A Fair in the Park on Sunday, September 9th! This bike cart turned show space is carrying Pittsburgh artist's interpretations of local museum collections all over the city! Stop by this demonstration tent to watch Alberto add his creations to The Mobile Museum.

Chain Saw Sculpture - Joe King
Otherwise known as "The Tree Carver," Joe King will be demonstrating the fine art of chainsaw sculpting. You don't want to miss a demonstration of this quick and exciting craft!

Jewelry - Jessica Rutherford, Booth #
Glass and jewelry artist Jessica Rutherford will be demonstrating the process of designing jewelry from her exhibitor's booth # K88.

Metal - Linda Smith, Booth #
Metal and jewelry artist Linda Smith will be demonstrating the process of creating wired jewelry with precious stones from her exhibitor's booth #J67.
