The Craftsmen's Guild of Pittsburgh was formed in 1944 and has been a member guild of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Shadyside for over 50 years. Our mission is to promote fine crafts in the greater Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania region. The Craftsmen's Guild sponsors exhibitions, workshops, social events, scholarships, and the nationally recognized art & craft festival "A Fair in the Park," held every September in Mellon Park. The Guild is comprised of over 100 members and many artists on PCA School faculty are Guild members. The Craftsmen's Guild also fosters the development of emerging artists through annual contributions to various related programs in the city. With an on-going commitment to the advancement of the art & craft industry, we offer many different avenues of opportunity for both new and long time members.

Wood, glass, leather, clay, stone, metal, cloth, jewelry, and mixed media, are among the variety of materials our members work in. We find our roots in a unique diversity of traditional, contemporary, functional and non- functional crafts alike. With emphasis on artistic expression, and an eye towards the future, we continue to grow and expand.
